An AI talk or lunch-and-learn for your team

Up to 90 minutes, for up to 30 people, in plain English. We come to your workplace or join by video, explain what AI can and can't do in your kind of work, and answer the questions your team actually has. Everyone gets the slides and a one-page handout afterwards.

£295

Based in Kent, working with businesses across the UK: on site in Kent, by video anywhere else.

Pick a topic

Each topic works as a lunchtime session of 45 minutes or so, or at the full 90 minutes with plenty of questions.

Introduction

AI explained for your team

What ChatGPT, Copilot and Gemini actually do, why they sometimes make things up, and a handful of jobs in your business where they can help now.

Safe use

Using AI safely at work

What never goes into a chatbot, which plans can train on what you type, checking answers before they reach a customer, and where your policy fits.

Scams

AI scams and deepfakes

Cloned voices, fake video calls and convincing emails, and the simple payment checks that stop them.

AI for your sector

Real tasks from your line of work, the guidance and rules that apply to it, and sensible places to start.

Lunch-and-learn or a proper briefing?

A lunch-and-learn is informal. People eat, we talk for about half an hour, and we spend the rest on questions. It works as a first taste, or for a topic like scams where the aim is awareness rather than a new way of working.

A staff briefing is more structured. It runs closer to the full 90 minutes, uses prepared examples on the software your business pays for, and ends with something specific people will do differently, such as a rule about customer data. It suits a team that has started using AI informally and needs one shared set of rules.

Neither is hands-on training. If you want staff working on their own tasks with us beside them, that's the team workshop, a full day for up to ten people. And if the talk shows you need rules in writing, an AI policy for your business is the usual next step.

How it runs

  1. Before

A short call to agree the topic, the software your team uses and the one change you're hoping for. You can see the slides in advance if you'd like.
  2. On the day

Prepared examples on familiar software, plain English throughout, and questions either at the end or as we go, whichever your team prefers.
  3. Afterwards

Slides and a one-page handout by email, plus answers to any questions we said we'd look into.

Getting the most from the session

  • Tell us your softwareWhich email, documents and chat tools you use, so every example matches what people see on their own screens.
  • Collect questions beforehandA short anonymous form works well. People ask more freely when nobody knows who asked.
  • Choose one changeDecide the one thing you'd like everyone to do differently afterwards, and we'll build the talk towards it.
  • Book a room with a screenOr send a video link. Nobody needs a laptop for a talk.
  • Follow it upThe handout helps people remember. Written rules and a named person to ask are what keep it going.

Clubs and community groups: the talk is free

If you run a club, a residents' association or a community group, we give a free talk about AI and the new scams, with no sales pitch. The paid talk on this page is for workplaces. It also suits business networking groups, trade associations and professional bodies looking for a speaker on AI for their members.

Questions people ask

What is an AI lunch and learn?

An informal session held over a lunch break, where a speaker explains a topic and answers questions while people eat. Mine is the same product as the AI talk, at the same price.

How long is the talk, and how many people can come?

Up to 90 minutes, for up to 30 people. A shorter lunchtime version is fine.

Can you speak at our networking group or trade association?

Yes. The talk works for a group's members as well as for one firm's staff. Clubs and community groups can book the free talk instead.

Do you give AI talks by video?

Yes, over Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams, anywhere in the UK, with no travel charge.

Can the talk be about our industry?

Yes. Tell us your sector when you book and we'll prepare examples from that kind of work, along with the guidance that applies to it.

Where are you based?

Herne Bay. There's no mileage charge for Canterbury, Whitstable, Herne Bay, Faversham or Thanet. Elsewhere in Kent it's 45p a mile, agreed before we fix a date.
