Oil and gas suppliers · Guyana
AI for oil and gas suppliers in Guyana
Winning work from operators and main contractors in Guyana means paperwork: expressions of interest, tenders, HSSE manuals, certificates that expire, local content data your clients must report. We set AI up to draft from your own past bids and records, so your team spends its time checking and pricing rather than retyping. People sign off every bid.

What the Local Content Act asks of the supply chain
The Local Content Act 2021 sets minimum Guyanese participation across 40 areas of petroleum sector work, from 5% to 100% depending on the area (Stabroek News summary, 2022). About 20 more areas are under consideration, which would take the list to around 60, according to the mid-year report covered by Kaieteur News in September 2026.
- Who counts as Guyanese. Incorporated in Guyana, at least 51% beneficially owned by Guyanese nationals, with Guyanese in at least 75% of senior posts and 90% of other roles.
- The register. Suppliers register with the Local Content Secretariat and renew yearly. The online portal launched in February 2026 quotes 15 working days for a new fully Guyanese-owned company, 21 for others.
- Your clients' reporting. Contractors file a five-year master plan, an annual plan with procurement, employment and capacity sub-plans, and a report within 30 days of each half-year. Over 40 companies had 2026 plans approved by June.
- Penalties. Up to GY$50 million for petroleum operations without the minimum local content, and up to GY$10 million for a company knowingly giving false information.
Much of what clients report comes from your data: spend, headcount, staff nationality, training hours. Suppliers who hand that over quickly and accurately are easier to work with. Check details with the Secretariat or your attorney.

One bid, from notice to submission
A made-up example. A main contractor issues an expression of interest for lay-down yard and logistics support, with ten working days to respond.
-
Day 1, the notice arrives
The assistant summarises it on one page: scope, deadline, mandatory documents, evaluation criteria, questions for the contractor. -
Day 1, bid or no bid
The managing director decides, with that summary and a list of similar past bids from your archive. -
Days 2 to 4, the first draft
Sections drafted from your previous submissions, each statement marked with its source. -
Days 2 to 4, the compliance matrix
Every "shall" and "must" listed against where the response answers it. -
Days 5 to 8, people take over
Operations checks capacity, finance prices it, HSSE reviews the safety sections. -
Days 9 to 10, sign-off
A director signs the final version. The submission and outcome are filed so the next bid starts from a better base.
Keeping client documents confidential
Tender packs usually come with confidentiality terms, so a free chatbot account is the wrong place for them. We set up a business AI tier inside your Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, kept out of model training and limited to named staff, and read the confidentiality clauses with you first. For CVs and payroll records we follow UK GDPR habits while Guyana's Data Protection Act 2023 awaits commencement.
For supplier development, the Centre for Local Business Development in Georgetown offers training and procurement information. We help you answer faster once an opportunity arrives.
The audit finds where bid and admin time goes; custom assistants then do the drafting. Our Guyana page covers other sectors, and our WhatsApp enquiry agent, the JHC Sector Agent, is in build with an early list.
Start with an audit, then build
The audit fee is credited in full against a build or Managed AI set-up quoted at £2,000 or more within 60 days. Paid by invoice and bank transfer within 7 days; no UK VAT.
Questions people ask
Can AI write our tender response?
It can write a solid first draft from your past bids and list every mandatory requirement. Pricing, technical claims and sign-off stay with your team.
Does using AI affect our Local Content Certificate?
The certificate depends on ownership and staffing as the Act defines them. AI can track renewal dates and keep supporting documents in order.
Can a UK company help with local content compliance?
We organise documents and data, not interpret the law. Ask the Local Content Secretariat or your attorney about the Act.
How much does it cost to set up AI for bid writing?
Most start with the audit at £995 (about $1,320), then a bid assistant within the £495 (about $660) assistants package.
Is our bid data safe in AI tools?
On a business tier inside your own Microsoft or Google account, data stays out of model training and only named staff have access.
