AI for construction companies in Guyana
AI for construction companies in Guyana is mostly about the office, not the site: tender documents, method statements, progress reports and drawing registers that pile up while your engineers are out. We set it up to draft from your own past projects and records, so a small estimating team can respond to more work without retyping. A person checks and signs everything that leaves the company.

Where the office hours go on a Guyanese contract
The 2026 budget funds the Heroes Highway, the Soesdyke to Linden road and the Linden to Mabura Hill upgrade, alongside tens of billions for community roads. The big river crossings have gone to international joint ventures. Much of the smaller work, drains, culverts, community roads, schools and housing infrastructure, is the kind of contract Guyanese firms and their subcontractors bid for.
Ask a contractor where the office week goes and the same jobs come up:
- Reading tender documents and building responses, often several at once.
- Method statements and safety plans rewritten for each job from old ones.
- Progress reports for the engineer or client, with photos.
- Drawing revisions, requests for information and variations kept in order.
- Comparing subcontractor quotes laid out three different ways.
- Site events written up from a foreman's WhatsApp voice notes.
None of that is the skilled part of building, which is why AI drafting fits it.
Tender writing with AI: NPTAB and the move to e-procurement
Larger public contracts go through the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board (NPTAB), with smaller ones handled by ministry, regional and agency tender boards. Since 2026, notices from government entities are gathered on one site, eprocure.gov.gy.
In August 2026 the government said it aims to finish a fully digital system by the end of the year, including a register of each bidder's GRA and NIS compliance, size classification and past performance. Until a tender says electronic bids are accepted, follow its stated submission method.
What AI does well here:
- Summarises the bid document. Scope, closing date, site visit, bid security and evaluation method on one page.
- Builds the returnables list. Every form, certificate and schedule, with an owner against each.
- Watches your certificates. GRA and NIS compliance, registration and insurance dates, with reminders before each lapses.
- Drafts the narrative. Company profile, similar works and methodology from your own archive.
What it must not do: price the bill of quantities, claim experience you don't have, or sign anything.
One tender, from advertisement to sealed envelope
A made-up example. A Berbice contractor sees an invitation to tender for rehabilitating 3 kilometres of community road, with four weeks to the opening.
-
Week 1: decide whether to bid
The tender summary sits next to your similar road jobs and current workload. The managing director decides. -
Week 1: the returnables list
Compliance certificates, bid security, equipment list, key staff CVs and schedules go on a shared tracker. -
Week 2: method statement drafted
Drainage, base course and surfacing sections are drafted from your last road job, adjusted for this scope. -
Week 2: site visit notes
The engineer's voice notes from the visit become a written list of risks and quantities to check. -
Week 3: pricing and review
Your estimator prices the bill of quantities. A second person reads the whole bid against the summary. -
Week 4: signed and filed
A director signs, the bid goes in by the stated method, and the final copy joins the archive.
Construction document control and site records
- Site diary from voice notesTwo minutes of talking at the end of the day becomes a dated log of labour, plant, weather, deliveries and delays for the engineer to check.
- Progress reportsMonthly reports drafted from site logs, photos and the programme, in the client's format.
- Drawing and RFI registerEach revision and request for information logged with date, sender and status, so nobody builds from a superseded drawing.
- Safety paperworkToolbox talks and hazard notes drafted in your format under the Occupational Safety and Health Act, approved by your safety lead.
What it costs a Guyanese contractor
The audit fee counts in full towards a build or Managed AI set-up quoted at £2,000 or more within 60 days. Prices are in pounds sterling, invoiced, with dollar figures as a guide.
Buying from Guyana, and keeping drawings private
You can pay online by card, or by invoice through international bank transfer within 7 days: request it here. No UK VAT is added, as we aren't VAT registered; ask your accountant about local tax on imported services. A free 15-minute video call comes first.
Drawings, bills of quantities and CVs need care, so we set up a business AI tier in your Microsoft 365 or Google account, limited to named staff and kept out of model training, and follow UK GDPR habits while Guyana's Data Protection Act 2023 awaits commencement.
Oil sector suppliers should see AI for oil and gas suppliers; other industries, our Guyana page. The JHC Sector Agent, our WhatsApp enquiry agent, is in build with no price or date; join the early list.
Questions people ask
Can AI write a method statement for a Guyana tender?
It can produce a good first draft from your earlier method statements and the new scope. Your engineer corrects it and takes responsibility for it.
Can we submit NPTAB bids online?
Notices are published on eprocure.gov.gy, and full electronic bidding is planned. Follow the submission method stated in each tender until it says otherwise.
How much does AI for a construction company in Guyana cost?
Most firms start with the audit at £995 (about $1,320). A smaller contractor can begin with the £395 (about $520) Kick-Start.
Can a UK company set this up for a Georgetown contractor?
Yes, by video inside your own accounts, with the price agreed in writing first.
